Advanced Dog Sledding, Tromsø Ice Domes Snow Park & Reindeer Visit - Incl. Transport

Combine the excitement of dog sledding through spectacular Arctic scenery with a magical visit to the Tromsø Ice Domes Snow Park.

Depart from the city center of Tromsø by bus and embark on an exciting adventure. After a 90-minute relaxing bus journey, you will enter the remote area Tamokdalen where our wilderness camp is located.

Upon arrival at Camp Tamok, you will be warmly greeted by your guide and outfitted with the essential gear including thermal suits, boots, and gloves, ensuring comfort and warmth for the adventures ahead.
After preparations and necessary instructions on how to control and steer the sled, you’ll first set off on your dog sledding adventure!

On the dog sled ride you will pair up with another guest, with two of you sharing one sled. One takes on the role of musher, guiding a team of energetic huskies through the snowy terrain, while the other enjoys the ride seated on the sled. Halfway, you will have the chance to switch roles, allowing each person to experience both the thrill of leading a team of huskies and the joy of being a passenger.
After the dog sled ride, you will have the opportunity to visit the dog yard and you can relax and warm up with a hot meal and drink by the open fire inside one of the lávvus (indigenous Sámi tent).
During your meal, a camp host will inform you where and when you are expected for the second part of your activity: the visit to the Tromsø Ice Domes Snow Park.
Enter the park and discover the magic of the snow and ice sculptures. Wander around by yourself through a mesmerizing display of snow and ice sculptures, a snow maze and explore our two domes. Marvel at the amazing art coming to life with light in its natural surroundings of pristine nature and peaceful Arctic landscapes. Get close to the two most iconic animals of Northern Norway: cuddle and take photos with our huskies and go visit the reindeers near the park.

After your visit, your day at Camp Tamok and Tromsø Ice Domes has come to an end and it is time to board the bus and return to Tromsø, taking with you great memories of your adventurous day out in the Arctic wilderness and images of the magical snow art.

About your dog sledding activity

This advanced dog sledding adventure has been labelled as a challenging activity with high difficulty level. The tour requires strength and fitness from all our guests, and a good physical condition is necessary to participate.
Some parts of the trail can be covered with a fresh layer of snow or go uphill which means in both cases you will have to help the dogs to push the sled. The trail can be narrow and have sharp bends, which requires a good balance to steer the sled.
Since you will be sharing the sled with another person it is required for both of you to meet these requirements when swapping places halfway the tour.
