Snowshoe Rental & Gondola Ticket (Full day rental)

Get close to nature and enjoy breathtaking views all around!

Book a pair of lightweight but solid snowshoes and poles, and a gondola ticket. The snowshoes can be picked up from Romsdalen AS office in Åndalsnes Train Station, situated directly next to the Romsdalen Gondola fjord station. You will also be provided with a map of the various trails and routes in the area.

If you have the gondola return ticket included you can take the Romsdalen Gondola 708 meters to the top of mount Nesaksla and start your snowshoe hike from there. We recommend to first walk across the platform at Eggen Restaurant before you attach the snow shoes and start hiking.
Magnificent views and a close-to-nature experience awaits you!

Afterwards, you can warm up in Eggen Restaurant and have a warm drink or meal. You can stay as long as you want, and take the gondola down at your own time. The gondola departs every full and half hour.

Snowshoeing is suitable for everyone and requires little training and prior knowledge. They are steady and stable and make it easier to walk on snow since the bearing surface is larger. Our MSR Evo Trail snowshoes have steel rails that provide a good grip and grooves that brake downhill. The snowshoe has bindings that fit most shoes and is suitable for all-round use.

Note: Romsdalsgondolen is closed for maintenance from 18.12.23 - 01.02.24. There is only "Snowshoe rental (without Gondola Ticket)" available for this period.

Duration: Full day rental. Available Thursday from 14.00, Friday, Saturday & Sunday from 12.00. Period from 01.11.23-30.04.24 (except when gondola is closed 18.12.23-01.02.24)

What to wear/bring:

Wear proper winter clothes. This includes solid winter- or mountain boots and water- and wind proof jacket and trousers. We also recommend to wear wool as the inner layer. Remember hat and gloves.
