Important update 24.02.25:
Due to an unusually warm winter with high temperatures and extreme weather conditions, including storms and heavy rainfall, a significant part of the Snow Park is damaged and is currently closed and the snow carving activity is cancelled.
To compensate for this unfortunate occurrence and to enhance your experience, a guide will accompany you inside our two domes instead:
Explore our two domes together with your guide and learn about the construction process and the importance of snow and ice for those living in remote places such as Tamokdalen. Admire the sculptures created by our talented ice-artists and get a delicious non-alcoholic ice shot at our ice bar inside one of the domes, as well as a taste of local cheese with jam made from wild berries.

Spend a whole day at Camp Tamok, the gateway to wilderness! Combine a visit to Tromsø Ice Domes Snow Park & wilderness experiences during the day with an evening activity of your choice.
Your full day-adventure will begin with a 1,5-hour bus ride from Tromsø to the remote Tamok valley. Upon arrival at the camp, you can freshen up and get geared up in the warm winter clothes and boots we provide, ensuring you stay warm and comfortable throughout your stay at the camp. Our camp host will inform you about the day's program.
Daytime Activity
Divided into smaller groups you will participate in a variety of engaging experiences, some accompanied by a guide, others to explore independently.
- Campfire Crafting: Learn the essential survival skills from your knowledgeable guide as you partake in the art of crafting a campfire, essential for staying comfortable on a cold winter's day. Master the art of starting an outdoor fire yourself and gather around its warmth and light while you immerse yourself in captivating stories about the local lifestyle and the rich culture of the Arctic region. Grill your own sausage on the open fire while we will serve a warm soup and hot berry juice keeping you warm and cozy outdoors.
- Snow Adventures: Get active and try navigating through snow-covered terrain on tandem skis. Race the other team for an extra dose of excitement! Learn about the history and evolution of skis, from a traditional form of transportation to its recreational & competitive forms today.
- Encounters with Arctic Wildlife: Get close to the two most iconic animals of Northern Norway: cuddle and take photos with our huskies and go visit the reindeers near the park.
Camp Stay
After the first activities, most people will return to Tromsø by bus. Since you have chosen to stay a full day at the camp (combining the visit to the Snow Park with an evening activity), we have made it possible for you to stay at Camp Tamok in between activities.
During this time, you will have the chance to explore the camp by yourself. Explore the beautiful surroundings, spend time at the dog yard, relax by the campfire inside the lavvu (read a book, play a game or socialize with others) or gather around the campfire outside.
At 17:00 we will grill sausages on the open fire at the camp.
The camp host will inform you on where to meet up for your evening activity.
Evening Activity
Depending on your choice of activity (upon booking), you will head out on a snowmobiling tour, experience reindeer sledding or join the northern lights visit.
After your evening activity, you will return to the camp, where a warm meal awaits in one of our traditional lavvus (indigenous Sámi tent). With food and drinks served, gathered around the open fire, you will get the chance to relax and share stories of your recent adventures. After the meal, it is time to board the bus and return to Tromsø, taking with you great memories of your day in the Arctic wilderness.

- Northern Lights Visit:
Please note that the Northern Lights are a natural phenomenon, and we cannot guarantee if / when and in what strength they will show on the evening of your tour. - Snowmobiling:
- Due to the dramatic topography, a reduced speed is maintained during some parts of the tour.
- This tour is not focused on chasing the Northern Lights, but it offers a great chance of witnessing this natural phenomenon.
- The duration of the snowmobiling activity (the time you will spend on the tracks, driving the snowmobile) can differ day to day, depending on snow and weather conditions.
- Insurance/Liability Info: Self liability can be reduced to 1000 NOK by paying waiver supplement of 300 NOK per driver.
Restriksjoner
- Each child must be accompanied by an adult.
- Snowmobiling Evening:
- You need to be minimum 18 years old and hold a valid driver's license to operate a snowmobile.
- Passengers needs to be minimum 7 years old.
- Drivers and passengers must be minimum 130cm in height to meet the safety requirements.
- Pregnant people are not allowed on this tour
